WEST SHORE CAFE, HOMEWOOD HIGH & DRY MARINA READY TO USHER IN SUMMER ON LAKE TAHOE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WEST SHORE CAFE, HOMEWOOD HIGH & DRY MARINA READY TO USHER IN SUMMER ON LAKE TAHOE

Restaurant to reopen for summer season May 28 with updated menu and new ‘Vine to Pier’ dinner series; Marina ready to welcome boaters with high-touch service

HOMEWOOD, Calif. (May 24, 2019) – This summer, visitors to Lake Tahoe’s west shore — whether arriving by boat or otherwise — won’t want to miss an opportunity to enjoy lunch or dinner lakeside at West Shore Cafe, participate in the new Vine to Pier dinner series, stop by for free music during the Wine vs Beer event series, or grab a bite to take with them on the water from Tahoe Fusion.

“West Shore Cafe is one of the few restaurants where people can step off a boat and dine on the pier, directly over Lake Tahoe’s clear water,” said Kevin Mitchell, general manager of Homewood Mountain Resort, West Shore Cafe and Homewood High & Dry Marina. “With access to a buoy field and boat valet service, arriving by boat is the ultimate way to experience alfresco dining on Lake Tahoe’s west shore.”

Designed by Chef Robb Wyss, West Shore Café’s seasonally-focused summer menu features fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, a stellar wine list and craft cocktails. The new menu will include signature items such as juniper crusted elk tenderloin with caramelized beets, baby kale, chèvre crema and cabernet fig jam. Other specialty dishes include brick pressed half chicken with shishito peppers, spoon bread, green apple slaw and harissa sauce, and curry corn bisque with coconut milk, lemongrass, summer corn and cilantro.

West Shore Cafe will host a new “Vine to Pier” dinner series the first three Tuesdays in June that features a five course pairing menu prepared by Chef Wyss. Partnering wineries include Freeman Winery (June 4), Grounded Wine Co. (June 11) and WALT Wines (June 18). Reservations are required for this special family-style dinner event series, with tickets priced at $100 per person for guests ages 21+.

In addition, the restaurant will introduce “Wine vs. Beer,” a five-week event series that was designed to offer a unique twist on wine and beer pairings. Featuring live music lakeside, the series will take place every Wednesday from July 10 through August 7 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Alternating between wine and beer tastings for the first four weeks, flights will be $20 per person for ages 21+. The final Wine vs. Beer face-off will take place August 7 with participating wineries and breweries going head-to-head as they are challenged with selecting the best wine varietal or beer style to accompany a small bite crafted by West Shore Cafe’s culinary team. Winners will be chosen by attendees, along with a panel of judges that includes a cicerone and sommelier. For the final showdown, tasting flights and food pairings will be available for $45 (for those ages 21+).

Dinner service at West Shore Cafe will resume for the season on May 28. Dining guests are encouraged to check the restaurant’s website prior to visiting as the restaurant is occasionally closed for weddings and other private events. For reservations, visit www.westshorecafe.com.

At neighboring Homewood Mountain Resort, the Tahoe Fusion food trailer will again be parked all summer long, offering west shore boaters and area visitors access to a fresh menu of Asian-Latin fusion cuisine.

In addition to boat storage and launch services, Homewood High & Dry Marina continues to offer a full-service offering including access to fuel at the on-site gas dock, repair, parts, boat sales and cleaning, activation and winterization. Homewood High & Dry Marina is open seven days a week in the summer, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in May, June and September, and from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in July and August. From October through April, the Marina is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Free customer vehicle parking is available in designated areas at Homewood Mountain Resort, located directly across the street from the Marina, and customer boat trailer parking is available for an additional fee.
