THE DOCKS EXPO SELECTS HOMEWOOD HIGH & DRY MARINA OWNER AS ‘YOUNG LEADER’ AWARD RECIPIENT
Homewood local, David Topol named among young leaders under age 40
HOMEWOOD, Calif. (Jan. 21, 2020) – At the annual Docks Expo in Nashville, TN in early December, a trade show designed to connect marina, boatyard and private dock owners and operators with marina products and services, Homewood High & Dry Marina owner David Topol was named among 14 award recipients of the Expo’s “Young Leaders Award.”
Topol, whose family has owned and operated the Homewood High & Dry Marina since 1977, has been the Marina Director since 2013. He oversees the marina’s day-to-day operations with a focus on safety, and according to his staff, is “always looking for ways to improve the guest experience and vessel maintenance.” Over the years, Topol has continually updated the marina to accommodate various models of boats in almost any size, and has offered complete lakeside services including full valet style launch/haul-out, full service gas dock, boat repairs and maintenance, boat cleaning, new boat sales and boat storage offerings.
For the Young Leaders Award, the Docks Expo organizers considered nominees under age 40 that represent a broad range of employment opportunities in the industry, have made significant contributions to the marina and boatyard industry, and collectively promise to play a big role in shaping its future. Topol was nominated by his staff for being a leader who pushes the boundaries for his marina service by continually looking for ways to improve the guest experience and for his pioneering efforts in the marina industry regarding environmental initiatives and technological advancements.
Homewood High & Dry Marina is located at 5190 West Lake Blvd. and is open seven days a week in the summer, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in May, June and September, and from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in July and August. From October through April, the Marina is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
